Sort laundry and read the care label
Start with the care label. Sort whites from colors and separate sheets from items with zips or hooks that can snag the fabric. Treat marks promptly using a method suitable for the textile; do not mix cleaning chemicals.
Choose detergent and temperature
Use the detergent dose appropriate to the load and local water conditions. Leave enough room for rinsing. Follow the label for temperature, bleach and drying settings rather than applying one rule to every fabric.
Dry thoroughly before storing
Dry thoroughly before folding and store in a clean, dry space. Rotate linen between uses and inspect hems and elastic. Ask for the care instructions for the exact product when enquiring.
