Fibre and weave describe different things
A fiber label and a weave describe different things. Cotton identifies the fiber; the weave describes how yarns interlace. A striped appearance alone does not establish composition or thread count.
Compare thread-count units and methods
Compare supplier specifications using the same measurement method. Thread count combines yarn counts in the warp and filling directions over a specified length; the reported unit and treatment of plied yarns matter. A larger number by itself is not a quality guarantee.
Check dimensions, care and samples
Choose for comfort, laundering and fit together. Ask for the precise blend, weave, dimensions and care label, and assess a suitable sample where available. Check pillowcases and sheets separately when building a set.
